Job Description

As Head of Accounting, you will hold a vital position within our organization, establishing our accounting team and playing a crucial role in financial operations. We equip you with cutting-edge tools, allowing you to channel your expertise into ensuring the utmost efficiency and precision in the financial processes. Additionally, you’ll contribute significantly to strategic financial planning and analysis efforts. This role offers diverse project opportunities, and your extensive accounting proficiency will be instrumental in driving both our organization and clients toward financial success.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development: Taking a leadership role in building and nurturing a high-performing team of controlling experts. Your guidance, assistance, and mentorship will be instrumental in helping them reach their full potential and achieve desired outcomes, fostering a culture of growth and excellence within the team
Strategic Accounting Consulting Leadership: Your role involves developing and executing comprehensive accounting strategies tailored to our clients’ needs, aligning with our financial objectives. You’ll provide strategic accounting consulting services to guide our clients effectively.
Precise Financial Management and Consulting: You will be responsible for month-end, quarterly, and year-end closings with meticulous accuracy, ensuring that entries, such as bank transactions, fixed assets, vendor invoices, travel expenses, customer invoices, payroll, and month-end accruals, adhere to relevant financial legal requirements. This precision is fundamental in delivering top-tier accounting and financial consulting services.
Strengthening Accounting Controls in a Consulting Context: Your responsibilities include enhancing and maintaining accounting controls. This ensures the confidentiality of financial information, a critical aspect of maintaining customer satisfaction and upholding operational integrity in our consulting engagements.

Your Profile

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or a commercial education with substantial professional experience
3+ years’ experience in managing financial teams; ideally in the biotechnology field
Deep understanding of financial strategies, tax law, internal controls, and risk management
Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting, along with familiarity with financial software and ERP systems, ideally Business Central
A hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Business fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus
